Primo

The Primo Academy is geared towards students ages 5-12 and students who are piano beginners through early intermediate levels. Our faculty spend a great deal of time creating a specific curriculum for each camp, with the purpose of helping each student experience musical concepts in a new and exciting way. While rotating through 30 minute classes they will learn music history, rhythm, theory, ear-training, and have exciting ensemble piano lessons. Students are organized into teams. Each team is mentored by an IPA faculty member and made up of students at his/her own age and level. Students will participate in review and musical games at the end of each day to help reinforce what they have learned so far.  All students show off what they have accomplished in a recital at the end of the week. Class presentations are made, as well as performances of each team’s ensemble piece.

Music Artist

The Music Artist  track brings an exciting, in-depth look to musical topics with lots of hands-on application. Created for students who already have a firm grasp on music fundamentals (basic theory such as, chords, key signatures, scales and good finger dexterity) and wants to explore new and deeper musicality. Class length is 50 minutes as students explore a range of topics including piano ensemble, music history, composition, aural skills, basic jazz, and modern music techniques. IPA faculty have hand-crafted the curriculum for each class and every year is different from before. All students show off what they have accomplished in a recital at the end of the week, including class presentations and ensemble pieces prepared during the week.
